Shop Name Badges by Style

Every team is different, so we make name badges in styles that will work for your organization. Whether you want something simple and budget-friendly or a name badge that makes a real statement, here's how our styles break down, so you can find the best name badges for your company.

Everyday and Standard Name Badges

These are the workhorses of the name badge world. Clean, simple, and built to hold up to a full shift day after day, without the price tag of something fancier. They're a natural fit for retail stores, restaurants, schools, and offices, or really any business that needs to badge a full team without stretching the budget.

Premium and Luxury Name Badges

These name badges for employees are meant to be noticed. The finishes look and feel more like fine jewelry than a name tag, which makes them a good match for businesses where a first impression carries real weight: real estate, law firms, financial services, upscale hotels and restaurants, or any leadership team that wants their badge to reflect the level of service they provide.

Write-On and Specialty Name Badges

This group is about flexibility and character. Some of these badges are made to be written on and wiped clean, which makes them a smart pick for events, temporary staff, or any business with regular turnover. Others bring in a distinctive material or finish for a look that stands out from a standard badge.

Which Name Badge Is Right for Me?

Picking a name badge comes down to how it gets used and who's going to see it day to day.

  • Big team, tight budget: Everyday and standard badges are a practical pick for large organizations. They hold up well to daily wear and keep the cost of outfitting everyone in check.
  • Client-facing or image-focused: Premium and luxury finishes are worth the upgrade. A unique name badge design makes a stronger first impression than a basic badge, and it won't fade, crack, or look worn after years of daily use.
  • High turnover or rotating staff: Write-on reusable name badges save you from having to reorder every time someone new starts or the season changes.

Cost matters, but the sticker price only tells part of the story. A badge made from high-quality materials can last five years or more. Paying a little extra now usually costs less over time than paying for name badges you have to replace every year.

Name Badges FAQ

Wear a name tag on the right side of your chest, above the pocket. One exception is a workplace ID badge used for building access, which is usually worn on the left.

Name tags generally fall into a few main types based on material and how they’re attached:

  • Plastic, metal, or wood badges with a pin, magnet, or clip
  • Engraved or write-on badges, like chalkboard-style tags
  • Adhesive paper or sticker tags for one-time use at events

To create a name tag, start by deciding what information you want on it, typically a name, a job title, and a company logo, then choose a material and attachment type that fits how it will be worn. From there, you can design it yourself using an online name badge customizer or submit your logo and details to a name badge company for a free design proof.

At NiceBadge, you can use our Design Your Own Name Badge tool or get help from our design team for larger or more detailed designs.

Most name badges run between $4 and $25 each, depending on material, size, and order quantity. Simple plastic or standard badges are at the lower end of that range, while metal, engraved, or jeweled styles cost more per badge.

At NiceBadge, one of our Standard Name Badges costs $12.25 for orders of one to four and drops to $7.55 each at 250 to 499 units, since larger orders qualify for volume discounts.

Perhaps something in the above that talks about even less on orders of over 499 units. We also base our pricing on the estimated annual usage for the year, the benefit is whether you are ordering one at a time or 500 at a time you will pay the same amount on a per item basis.
